You are not alone! Create a social profile and chat in a curated space with other caregivers who understand. Crowdsource answers (and locate those answers easily again). Find friends with similar interests (for you alone, or you as a pair!). Create and attend member meetups with your loved one: think of it as a DIY day club!

A lot is happening across the Twin Cities, but it’s hard to find and track all that’s available. With Careist, you gain access to a comprehensive calendar of dementia-specific and dementia-friendly events, including support groups, caregiver education workshops, and fun public events the whole family will enjoy!

Careist was envisioned to help caregivers, as we navigate all the challenges encountered when supporting/caring for someone with dementia. The help is crowdsourced: members hopefully will both share and glean support that is emotional, educational, material, spiritual, and practical.
Simultaneously, the person living with dementia also benefits from belonging to this community, through having more opportunities for socializing and keeping active. Not to mention, when the caregivers feel more supported and balanced, they are able to support their loved one better, resulting in better outcomes for the person living with dementia.
As a whole, Careist offers equal parts camaraderie and resources–social engagement and roadmap.
Anyone in the dementia community is welcome to join, as well as folks caring for a loved one with another neurodegenerative condition, like Parkinson’s, Lou Gehrig's, Huntington’s, etc.

We want to keep this platform financially sustainable, not bound by the whims of nonprofit grant funding.
We want this to be a real community–built by and sustained by the community–where we ditch the stigma associated with dementia and with being a caregiver, where we crowdsource reviews of places, services, and products, share our experiences in online forums and in real life, all while keeping this a safe and trustworthy network that spans city lines.

Currently we have two plans available: the standard rate of $4.99/month, or if finances are a challenge, there is a $1/month plan, too. No one who wants to join the platform will be turned away for financial reasons!

For the event calendar and directory, though, we are first focusing on the Twin Cities seven-county metro area.
